A walker is recovering after impaling his leg on a metal stake

Catstye Cam, where the climber injured himself

A hill walker suffered a nasty injury when he slipped and fell on Catstye Cam at the weekend.

The fall itself wasn't serious but the 39-year-old from Bristol slid into an old metal stake.

He was rescued by Patterdale Mountain Rescue and was taken to hospital suffering severe lacerations to his leg. Ouch!

Meanwhile 65 mountain rescuers and six search dogs went on a huge search for a 53-year-old woman near Mill Dale, in the Peak District.

The woman, from Nottingham, was found by a local rambling group after being missing for 15 hours.
